Brands for Pets Part 1

I’m going to be starting a series – I’m not sure yet how many parts this series is going to be. I intend for this to be a fun and light series – nothing serious and not in any way comparing or competing with anyone who can’t afford these things that I mention.
I am one of those who prefers getting quality for the pets that I look after at home – not always something that I can afford, and pet food is at the top of this list where I prefer getting quality. Again – you don’t have to get the most expensive, but ensure that the food you do get is of decent if not good quality. This is not going to be the expensive vet brands, and this isn’t going to be the chain store brands either. This is going to be the mid-tier range. Some of these you’ll be able to find at chain stores like Spar and PnP, others you’ll only be able to find at pet stores or at the vets.
So, since we’re mentioning pet food – let’s make Part 1 about Pet Food. I’m going to be including both cats and dogs here, and will be separating the two lists. We’ll be starting with the dogs first:

Dogs:
Montego
Pedigree
Bobtail
Vitagen
Husky
Epol
Dogmor
Bob Martin

Cats:
Montego
Catmor
Friskies
Whiskas
Epol
Pampers

Which of these brand do you prefer getting for your pets – if you’re someone who buys mid-range and not exclusively vet food? I prefer getting Montego for my pets at home. Again, this isn’t comparison or competing with anyone who can’t afford these brands. If you can only afford chain store pet food, then pick the best quality you can out of that range if you can afford it.
Next week I will be bringing out part 2 of this series.

As always, please always practice responsible pet ownership.
