I thought I’d do another light post today – and the start of a five part series.
Since it’s winter, it’s nice to cozy up either over weekends or in the evenings to watch a movie. Which brings me to the topic of today’s post: animal movies.
I thought I’d start with the cute animated movies, and then move onto other animal movies in part 2 – part 2 is going to be reserved for those tear jerkers, part three is going to be the classics, part four will be the cartoons side of things and part five is going to be non-animated movies.
I’m quite sure we can all name some of the infamous animal movies, and I’m going to mention the more infamous ones as well as the ones that aren’t highly popular. One thing I will note here – is that some of these movies I’m going to mention do have some tear jerker moments – but haven’t got overall sadness encompassed in them like some of the movies I’ll mention in the next post (part 2 of this series). Some of these movies might even keep your kids occupied if you happen to have any.
So, here goes the list:
Ice Age Movies
Dinosaur
Brother Bear
Madagascar Movies
The Aristocats
Bolt
Over the Hedge
101 Dalmations
The Jungle Book
The Secret Life of Pets Movies
Lady and the Tramp
The Fox and the Hound
The Lion King Movies
Happy Feet Movies
Something I do want to note before it gets pointed out – there are some movies here that have had sequels, but I’m not mentioning movies that had sequels that weren’t as successful as the first. Ones that were successful – I’ve labelled them as a collective: Movies
There is two in this list that have live actions so far: The Jungle Book and The Lion King. 101 Dalmations had a non-animated version, that was probably just as popular as the original animation.
One last thing I’ll mention before I go – there are a lot of movies that I’m not mentioning on this list – I’ve watched 98% – 99% of the movies on this list. What are some of your favourites from animated animal movies?
Stay tuned for part 2.
